 Chris Hope / Klaudia Gawlas - Round 4 |
While Chris Hope duelled with Marty Hare on Round 3, he is going to the mat with Klaudia Gawlas now. He introduces Round 4 with “DBAC Part 1, a pulsating techno track. It sounds as if party people arranged to meet for a drum session with bongos and drum sticks at a festival and it is underlayed with a propelling beat which immediately takes you to the floor. Klaudia Gawlas takes up similar weapons. However, pulsating alone is not enough: concise drums and hi-hats combined with a dynamic bass line make a go of Mikado. Klaudia Gawlas subtly builds up tension which is released into mechanical sounds after a climactic, energetic break. This first cooperation clearly shows that Frankfurt and Passau are tuned to the same wavelength.
This comes as no surprise as two top newcomers have worked together for Round 4. Klaudia Gawlas ranked top in Raveline Magazine’s annual poll while Chris Hope was voted into the top ten of Groove Magazine.
Klaudia Gawlas and Chris Hope prove in their first joint venture that the Bavarian small town of Passau is not as far away from Germany’s Techno capital Frankfurt as the number of kilometres might suggest. |

| Fine Audio 56 - Borderline Syndrome & Game Of Life |
“Borderline Syndrome”:
Mit “Borderline Syndrome” durchstöbern Chris, der den dritten Platz des Leser-Polls im Groove Magazin 2004 erreichte und André, der das allererste Fine-Audio-Release zusammen mit Chris Liebing produzierte, die Grenzen von Wahrnehmung und Sinne. Sehr schnelle Kicks und ein entfesselter Bass jagen die Gedanken gleich von Anfang an. Und mit ihrem Instinkt für Percussions und Highs heben Chris Hope & André Walter das Stück auf ein anderes Level. Aber auch das feine und zerbrechliche Synthesizer-Programming macht das hier zu einem wahren Peak-Time-Wunder.
“Game Of Life”:
Etwas ruhiger als das A-Seiten-Stück aber genauso dicht wie sein Vorgänger, nur mehr apokalyptisch, schraubt sich “Game Of Life” durch die Schädeldecke in das Gehirn. Diese Sirenen nutzend erschaffen André, der auch unter seinen Pseudonymen Gecko oder Andrew Wooden wohl bekannt sein dürfte und das Label Stigmata gründete und Chris, der seine erste Ko-Produktion mit André 2005 produzierte (die “Reanimate E.P. auf Audio Assault) eine stimmung die von Panik und Angst geprägt ist. Hier findet man die ganze Energie-Streuung, die ein Techno-Track haben sollte.
